Duncan Abel’s new play, Jack and Sarah, based on the film of the same name makes its world premiere at the Mill at Sonning in spring (2026). Duncan Abel’s stage adaptation of P. D. James’s Death Comes to Pemberley(co-written with Rachel Wagstaff) toured the UK in 2025. Collaborations with Wagstaff include original play, Room 13, (the Barn theatre, 2024); stage adaptations of Rebecca Netley’s gothic thriller, The Whistling (Mill at Sonning); The Da Vinci Code, (UK tour and international productions); The Girl on the Train (UK Tour/Duke of York’s); When I Lost You (BBC Radio 4) and a monologue for Sing London, based on the life of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
In 2011, Duncan Abel’s novel, The Way Home was shortlisted for the Luke Bitmead Award. His poetry and short stories are published in various literary anthologies. He has also lectured in creative writing at the University of Hertfordshire and is currently under commission to several UK theatre companies.
